The spammers have slammed the comments area, so sorry, but we’ve turned it off for a while. What in the world do they think they are accomplishing by spamming a web journal? It irritates me to no end. I guess that’s what they like – to irritate people like me. It amazes me that people actually respond to these trash-splashers. If I responded to these I could, have a great low mortgage rate, get a college education, a new expensive looking watch so I could tell what time I needed to take my next pill. I won’t mention the other items pushed. I’m sure you know. Everybody gets spam these days.
But I’ve got to tell you; we’ve got religious spam that’s just as pathetic. If I responded to half of the ads for growing our church to a mega-church, or getting all of us healed and empowered, I’d be busy all day. Whether it’s snail mail or e-mail, the “sacred-spammers-of-spiritual-sustenance” are at it full tilt boogie. Gosh, all I need is a few thousand dollars and I’d have a perfect church.
The American church, I love it, but we sure have been infused with a serious case of competitive entrepreneurial dysfunction. Sunday I had someone from another religion come to me after service; this person is a very sweet, gentle person who is seriously seeking to know God. They said,
